How To Configure a Windows 2000 PC for Dial Up Internet Access.


 

1.) Click the Start button, click Settings, and choose Control Panel.

  

2.) Double-click the Network and Dial-up Connections icon.

  

3.) Double-click the Make New Connection icon.

  

4.) Click the Next button.

  

5.) Select Dial-up to the Internet and click the Next button.

  

6.) Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually and click the Next button.

  

7.) Select I connect through a phone line and a modem and click the Next button.

  

8.) Enter your local access number with area code in the designated fields.  Click the Next button.

  

9.) In the User name field, type your Broadview username. In the Password field, type your Broadview
     password then click the Next button.

  

10.) In the Connection Name field, type Broadview Networks. Click the Next button

   

    

   

11.) Click the Yes radio button in the Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now area and click the Next button.

  

12.) In the Display Name field, type your name then click the Next button.

  

13.) In the E-mail address field, type your email address. Your email address is your Broadview
      Networks username followed by @broadviewnet.net (example: username@broadviewnet.net).
     Click the Next button.

   

   

14.) Click the arrow box on the My incoming mail server is a __ server drop-down list and choose POP3.
       In the Incoming mail server field, type mail.broadviewnet.net. In the Outgoing mail server field,
       type mail.broadviewnet.net then click the Next button.

   

   

15.) In the Account name field, type your Broadview username. In the Password field, type your Broadview password. Check the box next to Remember password if you would like to have your password saved. Now click the Next button

  

16.) Check the box if you would like to connect to the internet when you click Finish. Keep it unchecked if you do not. You may now click Finish.
